Summary:
As a Service Team Leader at Intervarsity Canada’s UBC Campus, I was responsible for leading and organizing a team of volunteers, ensuring the efficient delivery of programs, and supporting the spiritual growth of participants. I was involved in both planning and executing activities that promoted community engagement and volunteer development.

Full Description:
In this role, I facilitated various programs designed to foster leadership and teamwork among participants. I coordinated events, managed schedules, and provided training to team members. Through my leadership, I helped develop a supportive and collaborative environment where participants could grow in their faith and personal development. My work also involved overseeing the day-to-day operations, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring the smooth functioning of events and activities.

Key Accomplishments:

  1. Led and coordinated a team of 10+ volunteers to execute 5+ community events, driving engagement and fostering a sense of belonging among participants.
  2. Facilitated weekly small group sessions of 15-20 participants, fostering open discussions and personal growth, while providing guidance on faith and leadership development.

General Learning Significance:
This position allowed me to gain practical experience in managing teams and coordinating events. It was a valuable opportunity to engage directly with individuals and work in a dynamic, people-centered environment. This hands-on experience reinforced the importance of leadership, open communication, collaboration, and adaptability, skills I will rely on in my future career regardless of what sector I end up in.
